Hot SID
Yay! The new Prophet64 music software for the C64 is now shipping. Prophet64 is a cartridge containing four programs: First, there is a sequencer in Logic/Cubase style, completely usable by mouse input. Secondly, a monaural synthesizer in the style of the classic Prophet devices. Use paddles (like those for playing Pong on an Atari) to tweak parameters like filter cutoff in realtime! Thirdly, a 303-inspired bass synthesizer and, of course, a 909-inspired drum machine program.
The last Prophet64 release is about two years old and was only distributed via files to load into the C64 via floppy discs. Now it’s a cartridge, so no need to carry around that large 1541 floppy drive anymore. Plus, it features DIN-Sync to sync it to old equipment; MIDI support is coming soon by the hands of veteran lo-fi hacker and musician firestARTer.
And yes. We already ordered two.
